Presentation of the Detwiler Time Capsule by
Sandra Detwiler Lusch, Detwiler Family Reunion President,
to Peg Trunk, who was the Vice President of the Historical Society of
the Phoenixville Area (HSPA) at their Annual Membership
Dinner on September 17, 2003, where it will be

The following is a complete
list of the contents placed and sealed in the Time Capsule.
-
Minutes of past
meetings.
-
The official Treasurer’s
book from 1949 to 1999.
-
A booklet prepared by
Sandy Lusch containing the hands of 16 children ages 21
months to 11 years.
-
“Words of Wisdom” –
reflections and anecdotes about the reunion from many
family members.
-
Names and address of
family members as they were known at this time.
-
Parade Magazine dated
December 31, 2001, giving a snapshot of life in 2001
from the “Best Boy Band” to the “Worst Job.”
-
“An old style “You’ve
got a friend in Pa.” license plate.
-
A Nokia cell phone.
-
A VHS videotape made at
the 100th reunion in 1996, (It is unlikely
that it will be viewable in 25 years ?? 2025 ?? – so we
made a DVD copy for the historian’s files.)
-
A book – September 11,
2001- containing a collection of newspaper front pages
from around the world, depicting the defining moment of
2001, and top news stories of the time.
-
These will show how
history has changed when the time capsule is opened in
25 years, or at a date to be determined by the Officers
and Family Members of the DETWILER FAMILY!!
-
A memory book designed
by Sandy Lusch including pictures of the family quilt,
and photos taken at reunion.
-
A list of names and
addresses of family members as they were known in 2001.
-
Printouts of the web
pages as they existed in 2001.
-
An 8 x 10 photo of all
those attending as well as our INSTANT (!)
identification for the picture.
-
A page from the
Pottstown Mercury with the write-up of the Reunion.
-
A coffee mug with photo
of Abraham & Catherine Detwiler.
-
Detwiler Family Cookbook
(prepared for 100th reunion) which includes
family generation information as well as published
recipes of family members.

Family Reunion held August. 16, 2003. Terry Lusch,

Detwiler Family written by the President Sandy Lusch
containing her appreciation of the past accomplishments
of our family, general information of this present
moment in time, and her thoughts for family members at
the time the Time Capsule is officially opened.
